In the macula (the central part of the retina at the back of the eye), lutein and zeaxanthin support a natural pigment which filters high-energy blue light. This helps maintain macular health.  The doses of both lutein and zeaxanthin in Lutein
DefenceTM are the same as those used in the AREDS 2 study.
